Public Education

Fire safety starts before an emergency. The Bryant Fire Department’s Public Education program provides practical training, resources, and outreach to help residents, schools, and businesses reduce risk and respond with confidence.

Overview

Public Education is a core part of what modern fire departments do. The Bryant Fire Department works to reduce emergencies through prevention, awareness, and training—helping residents recognize hazards early, practice safe routines, and respond quickly if an incident occurs.

Whether you represent a school, a neighborhood group, a business, or a community organization, our goal is the same: share practical guidance that can prevent injuries, protect property, and save lives.

Home Safety

Smoke Alarms & Escape Plans

Working smoke alarms and a practiced escape plan are two of the most effective ways to improve survival in a house fire. Test alarms regularly, replace batteries as needed, and make sure every household member knows two ways out of each room.

Kitchen & Cooking Safety

Unattended cooking is a leading cause of home fires. Stay in the kitchen when cooking, keep combustibles away from heat sources, and keep a lid nearby to smother small grease fires.

Outdoor Burning & Fire Pits

Open burning rules apply within the City. Review the ordinance below before burning yard debris or using an outdoor burn area.
